leslie and i were talking about this today, and we both agreed that women in the 70+ range are the most likely people to grab and caress your pregnant belly. i think this might be a "hunny, i've totally been there let me see that bump" thing, and as long as you don't mind, it is totally amusing. i think i would have minded in the early weeks, when my belly consisted of a beer belly that i could no longer suck in...but now i don't mind. but don't get any ideas people, i'm ONLY talking about old ladies!!!
here are a couple fun additions to baby lavalle's room. i got the cutest curtains and tiebacks form urban outfitters (thanks mom for the gift certificate last christmas!!) that look super cute:
and how cute are these tiebacks:
and together:
i also found an ugly old nightstand on craigslist for $10. here's the before picture:
(i didn't remember to take the picture until after i had sanded and started painting...woops!)
and here it is finished! i didn't go in the direction i originally planned, it just sort of happened:
i lined the drawer with some fun paper. and i got new knobs, one for this nightstand and some for the dresser, but i haven't received them yet.
okay, hope i didn't bore you all too much with my fun diy projects. on another note, jamie and i started our childbirth classes tonight (jamie's going to be an amazing coach for me!) and turtle has seriously begun to stink really bad. like...really bad. but i can get out of doggy bathtime, right?
xoxo

Can we please talk about how badly I want that nightstand for myself? I guess CL can keep it for now but I might have to steal it one day.
ReplyDeleteI did get a bookcase from Ikea this weekend, put it together all by myself, and then put flowery contact paper on the back of it. I was pretty proud of myself, but nowhere near your level of craftiness, K!
Super cute - I especially love the owls. And try not to stress about the contractions. I think everyone is a little different, but I had them for a couple of months before both boys were born. You're so healthy - try to trust that your body knows what it's doing and hang in there!
